We see this happening all the time. Login names and / or passwords are sent via email. How about personal or banking information?
You should NEVER email any information you wouldn't want others to see or read. Notice what PC Magazine has to say about this...
"E-mail is inherently insecure... E-mail in transit might pass through packet sniffers, which can siphon out e-mail packets and uncover the sender, the recipient, and the body of the message."
